Helena Lyric's

Long ago
Just like the hearse you die to get in again
We are so far from you

Burning on just like a match you strike to incinerate
The lives of everyone you know
And what's the worst you take (worst you take)
from every heart you break (heart you break)
And like the blade you stain (blade you stain)
Well I've been holding on tonight

What's the worst that I can say?
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long and goodnight

Came a time
When every star fall brought you to tears again
We are the very hurt you sold
And what's the worst you take (worst you take)
from every heart you break (heart you break)
And like the blade you stain (blade you stain)
Well I've been holding on tonight

What's the worst that I can say?
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long and goodnight
And if you carry on this way
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long and goodnight

Can you hear me?
Are you near me?
Can we pretend to leave and then
We'll meet again
When both our cars collide?

What's the worst that I can say?
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long and goodnight
And if you carry on this way
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long and goodnight

What's Wrong with music Nowdays?

I just read this article:

http://www.thegauntlet.com/article/1225/13374/.html

I like that article about suicide and music. I still think emo is an umbrella term. Many bands claimed that they are not emo. So I won't talk about emo first.

I hate it when people label MCR and Panic emo. They are NOTHING related to emo, really. MCR is not related to the death of Hannah Bond either. The lyrics of "Famous Last Words" says :

"I am not afraid to keep on living, I am not afraid to walk this way alone"

How come that the press say that MCR made Hannah Bond suicide? They didn't even check out the lyrics of the song! Daily Mail is a very stupid company, please everyone do not buy anything from Daily Mail again. Don't trust them, they are idiots. Music is just music, it is a hobby, it is art, music won't change what people do, John Mayer said so [I don't like John Mayer but I think he's right].

I didn't know that black metal is banned in Islamic countries. No offense to those countries and I'm not discriminating them, but I don't really like the rules of these countries, because you MUST become a Muslim when you're a resident of these countries. But that's okay, it's their tradition, everyone in those countries are very faithful to their religion, they are not like us, they're really faithful. However, I just DON'T like them. No offense, really.

I think this is a very strange law,

"Followers of black metal could be prosecuted under Islamic law. It has been established that black metal practices are way against the syariat and every effort must be taken to stop its spread. Black metal culture is unacceptable for Muslims and can cause listeners to rebel against the the country's prevailing religion."

How does they know I follow black metal? What if I listen to black metal secretly?

And emo goth metal punk things are just lifestyles. They are not like religions that the laws protect them, you can have the emo punk goth metal whatever lifestyles but people may not know. How do people know? Because you look like an "emo" ?

And what does emo goth metal punk mean? No one has ever make a clear defination of them. Looking like an emo is no clear at all, at least the law should say things like these ones:

"Anyone cannot look like emo, that is, have long bangs which cover their eyes, wear big glasses, tight pants, black clothes, band tees, Vans or Converse shoes, wear heavy black make up. or cut them selves, if anyone has done 3 or more of these, they will go to prison for 10 years until they confess that they won't do any of these anymore"

This sounds really crazy. But laws are always some weird things like that. Laws are not true, first they say we have freedom at anything, then second they say we can't do this we can't do that. I think they should cancel the first law, the law told us that we have freedom. It's vague.

I think the ones who write laws should study science and understand what clear defination means. They should stop saying things so hard understanding.

Famous Last Words lyric

Now I know
That I can't make you stay
But where's your heart?
But where's your heart?
But where's your...

And I know
There's nothing I can say
To change that part
To change that part
To change...

So many
Bright lights, they cast a shadow
But can I speak?
Well is it hard understanding
I'm incomplete
A life that's so demanding
I get so weak
A love that's so demanding
I can't speak

I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home

Can you see
My eyes are shining bright
'Cause I'm out here
On the other side
Of a jet black hotel mirror
And I'm so weak
Is it hard understanding
I'm incomplete
A love that's so demanding
I get weak

I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home

I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home

These bright lights have always blinded me
These bright lights have always blinded me
I say

I see you lying next to me
With words I thought I'd never speak
Awake and unafraid
Asleep or dead

(How can I see, I see you lying) 'Cause I see you lying next to me
(How can I see, I see you lying) With words I thought I'd never speak
(How can I see, I see you lying) Awake and unafraid
(How can I see, I see you lying) Asleep or dead

'Cause I see you lying next to me
With words I thought I'd never speak
Awake and unafraid
Asleep or dead

'Cause I see you lying next to me
With words I thought I'd never speak
Awake and unafraid
Asleep or dead

I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
(Or dead)
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home
(Or dead)
I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
(Or dead)
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home
(Or dead)
I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
(Or dead)
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home

MCR leads Jakarta in a parade of bright lights

The emo kids were out in droves. Almost all wearing black T-shirts and skinny jeans, with nearly identical haircuts and the same "my heart is bleeding and bursting with pain, but how does my hair look?" expression on their faces.

Every inch of the Jakarta Convention Center's Plenary Hall on the last night of the first month of the year was slowly but surely engulfed by this wave of angst-filled monochrome-clad adolescents.

There was a good reason for this seemingly cultish fervor: My Chemical Romance (MCR) was going to take the stage. This New Jersey-formed band that currently features a line-up of Gerard Way (vocals), his brother Mikey Way (bass guitar), Ray Toro (guitar), Frank Lero (guitar) and Bob Bryar (drums) could easily be called the most prominent act to fall under the media-created genre label of "emo" or "pop-punk", although there have been long-standing debates about the accuracy of that branding.

Gerard Way once said in an interview that My Chemical Romance was just another rock band.

Based on the magnificently grand performance they gave Thursday evening, one would be inclined to say he was partially right, except for one thing: they are not any old rock band. They are a truly excellent and versatile rock band that can traverse every corner of that very broad definition with the kind of ease and grace we've seen only in the greatest live rock bands in history.

For instance, I'm Not Okay (I Promise), the first single off their major label debut Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, could easily enough be tossed into the "emo" box, but what about the very Queen-esque Black Parade? Or the Kurt Weill-influenced Mama? Or even the Van Halen-esque old-school stadium rocker Teenagers?

The fact that they have a mostly emo fan-base seems to be caused by the dark tint that MCR seems to add to everything they do -- from their lyrics to their semi-Gothic appearance. However, their entire body of work makes it very obvious that to label these guys as simply "emo" would be lazy and stupid.

Regardless of the genre squabbling, these guys came to Jakarta to face the highest of expectations from their fans, and judging from the air of excitement and sheer pleasure emanating throughout the auditorium, those expectations were met and then some.

These Jersey boys stormed on-stage accompanied by a thunderous assault of drums and proceeded to dive in to their first song gracefully as the crowd roared, screamed and raved at every decibel humanly possible. This was the mood that they magically maintained throughout their roughly 80-minute show.

Their set list consisted of songs from all their albums including their first indie release, I Brought You Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, on Eyeball Records in 2002, as well as a few B-sides and some new material.

The many strong moments of the performance included a hugely crowd-pleasing and playful rendition of Mama, where Gerard Way seemed to be channeling the spirit of a long deceased 1930's German cabaret singer in the way he nimbly moved around the stage and dramatically belted out the lyrics, and Teenagers, where the band called out a member of their stage crew to come out and play harmonica on the song.

"We've never played this song with harmonica before, so this should be cool," Gerard enthused; this was after he had given a short speech thanking the crew for supporting them throughout their long and extensive world tour.

The crowd managed to get even more excited when the band performed the hit single Black Parade accompanied by an impressive display of lights and smoke, and Gerard guiding the audience through the song like a grimly overzealous majorette.

The crowd followed his lead throughout the show, singing along loudly with nearly every song, louder than the band themselves on a few songs. This near religious zeal was most palpable during the song Helena, where the entire audience chanted every sentence of the song with a kind of emotional power rarely seen outside an evangelical church.

A two-song encore and the show wrapped with the audience refusing to believe it was over and unwilling to leave until the house lights came on.

The band delivered what could easily be said to be one of the best rock concerts Jakarta has seen in a long while. And if the crowd's reaction said anything, it was that My Chemical Romance is welcome to drop by again anytime.

Biography

Based in New Jersey, My Chemical Romance is an alternative pop/rock and punk-pop band that has been compared to Thursday and, to a lesser degree, Cursive. Many of their songs are loud, fast, hyper, and aggressive, but My Chemical Romance's work also tends to be melodic and pop-minded. My Chemical Romance got started in the early 2000s, when lead singer Gerard Way and drummer Matt Pelissier decided to try writing some songs together. The first tune that Way and Pelissier -- who had been friends since high school -- came up with was called "Skylines and Turnstiles" (a title reflecting the fact that Way had been working in New York City, where he was in the animation field. This is also about the 9-11 attack). Way and Pelissier both felt good about the song, and Way asked guitarist Ray Toro if he would be interested in working with them. My Chemical Romance's five-man lineup was complete when Way, Pelissier, and Toro joined forces with bassist Mikey Way (Gerard Way's brother) and guitarist Frank Iero. With that lineup in place, the band started playing all around the Northeast Corridor and made plans to begin working on its first album.

In 2002, Eyeball Records (the New York-based indie that Thursday had recorded for) released My Chemical Romance's debut album,(Mikey had been working at Eyeball for an Intership) I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love. The album was often compared to Thursday -- a comparison that, for various reasons, was inevitable and unavoidable. Both bands were from New Jersey, both had recorded for Eyeball, and both combined punk-pop's musical aggression with introspective, confessional lyrics. Plus, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love was produced by Geoff Rickly, Thursday's lead singer -- add all of those things up, and there was no way that My Chemical Romance was going to escape Thursday comparisons. But Thursday isn't their only influence; reviewers have cited the Smiths, Morrissey, the Cure,The Smashing Pumpkins and the Misfits as influences. And Way has even cited British heavy metal icons Iron Maiden as an influence.

Lyrically, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love is as dark as it is introspective and cathartic; Way has been quoted as saying that the band's lyrics were a great way for him to deal with the problems he had been going through (which included severe depression and a serious illness in his family). The 2002 release included Way and Pelissier's first song, "Skylines and Turnstiles," and many of the album's other song titles were equally intriguing, including "Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough for the Two of Us," "Drowning Lessons," "Headfirst for Halos," "Our Lady of Sorrows," and "Vampires Will Never Hurt You." In 2003, My Chemical Romance signed with Reprise/Warner Bros.

Their Second Album "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge" was released in late 2004. The First single "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)", a high speed anthem for the contiually downtrodden and rejected, caught America off-gaurd and put MCR (My Chemical Romance) in the spotlight almost overnight.

The second single "Helena" a slow almost haunting ballat (but not really, it's also very up-beat) dedicated to Elena Rush (the Way brothers' late grand mother.) Brings to mind "The Cure", other noteworthy songs on the album are "The Ghost of You", "Thank You for The Venom" and "To The End". My Chemical Romance was also Featured on this years "A Taste Of Chaos" tour this spring and also go a half hour concert special on the "Fuse" music network.
